Warranty Policy

At Vital Light, we stand behind the quality and performance of our products. This Warranty Policy explains your legal rights and our obligations regarding defective products, in line with European and Portuguese consumer law, including Directive (EU) 2019/771 and Decree-Law No. 84/2021.


1. Legal Warranty Period

The legal warranty period depends on the purchase date:

  • Purchases before 1 January 2022: Covered for 2 years from the date of delivery.
  • Purchases on or after 1 January 2022: Covered for 3 years from the date of delivery.

2. How Coverage Works

First 2 Years

  • Any defect appearing within the first 2 years is legally presumed to have existed at the time of delivery, unless we can prove it was caused by misuse or other exclusions.
  • You do not need to prove the defect was a manufacturing fault — the burden of proof is on us.

Third Year (Conditional Coverage)

  • The third year is not a full warranty period like the first two years.
  • It applies only if:
    1. The defect was reported during the first two years, and
    2. We repaired or replaced the product, and
    3. The same defect reappears or is related to the original fault.
  • If a completely new defect occurs for the first time in the third year, the legal warranty does not require us to cover it (unless you have extra coverage under our commercial warranty).

3. What the Warranty Covers

This warranty applies if the product:

  • Does not conform to the contract at the time of delivery.
  • Is defective in function or performance due to a manufacturing fault.
  • Fails under normal and intended use within the applicable warranty period.

If the defect is confirmed, Vital Light will:

  • Repair the product, or
  • Replace it with a new unit of the same model, or
  • Refund the purchase price if repair or replacement is not possible.

4. What the Warranty Does NOT Cover

This warranty does not cover:

  • Misuse, mishandling, or abuse of the product.
  • Accidents (e.g., drops, water damage, incorrect voltage).
  • Unauthorized repairs, modifications, or disassembly.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage from external events (e.g., lightning, power surges, natural disasters).
  • Cosmetic defects or packaging damage that do not affect functionality.

5. How to Claim

To submit a warranty claim:

  1. Email info@vital-light.com with:
    • Your order number.
    • A description of the issue.
    • Clear photographs or video showing the defect.
  2. If your claim is approved, we will provide instructions for returning the product to our facility in Portugal.

Important:

  • You are responsible for return shipping costs.
  • If the defect is covered, Vital Light will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replaced product back to you.

6. Inspection & Resolution

  • If the product is found defective and covered under warranty, repair or replacement will be provided at no cost.
  • If the product is functioning normally or the defect is not covered, we will notify you. You may have it returned at your own expense.

7. Your Legal Rights

This warranty is in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not replace them. You may have other remedies available under applicable law for faulty goods.
